年年有餘　

中国では、古来より魚は川を伝わり、幸運を招くと言われています。

中国語では魚のことを「ユィ」と呼びますが、この「ユィ」は「有餘（有り余る）」という言葉と同じ発音だったため、富と幸福の象徴とされました。

さらに、たくさんの卵を産むことから、子孫繁栄の意味合いもあり、魚の文様はたいへん縁起の良いものでした。

この作品は、秦の始皇帝が建てた宮殿「阿房宮」から出土した半瓦當を基に点描いたしました。

In China, it has been said since ancient times that fish travel down rivers and bring good luck.

In Chinese, fish are called "yui," which is pronounced the same as the word "yuyo," meaning "more than enough," and so fish were considered a symbol of wealth and happiness.

In addition, since fish laid many eggs, they were associated with the prosperity of offspring, making the fish pattern a very auspicious one.

This work is based on a half tiled tile excavated from the palace of Qin Shi Huangdi, the first emperor of the Qin Dynasty.
